Arizona Immigration Law SB 1070
What are effects of Arizona Immigration Law SB 1070 after the announcement of Arizona Immigration Bill for Hispanic business owners on this state? The effects of passing the Arizona Immigration Law SB 1070 is already being felt in the state with many Hispanic business owners saying their sales have declined and they fear they are now going to struggle to stay afloat.
An Arizona business owner, Hector Manrique owns a taqueria in Phoenix, stated that he is now seeing signs of his business decline because today his restaurant would be empty tables and no people in sight due to effect of Arizona Immigration Law SB 1070.
The recent Arizona Immigration Law SB 1070 is thought of as an issue between caucasian/African American Americans and those of a Hispanic descent. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Those from Latin American aren’t the only foreign-born individuals in arms about the new SB1070 bill.
Asian Americans are also upset about the Arizona Immigration Law SB 1070. To many in their community, the bill is the worst case of racial profiling since WWII. Many fear that officers will only check the papers of those who are “brown” or that appear Hispanic or Asian.
Mexican officials also denounced the Arizona Immigration Law SB 1070, and said they expect a real drop in tourism. Several organizations from California, as well as Senate leaders, have denounced the law, calling it unconstitutional, and calling for increased boycotts and challenges. The American Immigration Lawyers Association has already cancelled its scheduled conference there about Arizona Immigration Bill.
